It was late afternoon and the sky was begining to start to turn a deep pink and the clouds that were against the sun began to take on a purple color. The sky was full of all those magnificent pinks and oranges. The blue was gone for today and the birds fled from the skies with it. It was still warm out and there was a gentle breeze swirling around leaves or loose blades of grass. It truly was a beautiful evening. But soon it would be gone with the darkness of night and the coming of work. The feild of grass would dissapear and the water would rise carrying spirits across it in boats. Another night of non-stop work. Haku had to admitt that he was thankfull he didn't have to do the work that other workers had to do. Then he would really be down. At the moment he felt terrible. Everything that had been going on just wasn't going the way he wanted them to turn out. But there was nothing he could do now. Right? Maybe there was and he just needed to find the solution. No.. he just needed to forget about it. That was the easiest way out. Forgetting. He let his jade colored eyes travle to the stone path beneath him and a few strands of forest green hair fell into his face. What was he going to do now? There wasn't anything he could do but move on and continue his work here for Yu-Baaba. That was all he could do and all he was going to do.

As the air was warm and leaves were slowly waving in the breeze, a tall slim girl walked down the road. Trapped into a world forever. Force to trick new comers that walk into the spirit world. Lock with a spell that make her into a unicorn when she walk into the human world and when the world turn dark. Force to forget her friends and turn on them while she in her spirit form. Surka felt alone and unhappy here, she missed her family and friends really much, she haven't realised that she has been away from nearly four years now.
To pass through the still, slow time she learn on the rail of the bridge she was about to cross, waiting for night so she could go on her duties for Yu-baba. She didn't know that Haku was nearer by, she cired long and hard, thinking in her mind how long have I got to wait? When would I be free? Will I ever have friends? Would I ever be free? She lifted herself up and wiped her tears, and turn to go and then saw Haku. She wanted to go and see him but she stood still, wondered what he would do.[/color]

Haku had been staring at the now rather interesting stone beneath him intently until he heard crying. Wait. Was that really someone crying? Or was his mind playing tricks on him because of all the guilt he felt at the moment. That might have been it. But just to make sure, he turned around and saw Surka staring back at him. He wondered how long she had been there but quickly shook it off and made his way over to her. "Surka, are you alright?" he asked tilting his head slightly. "Was that you crying?" He sounded almost like a child as he spoke but he payed no attention to it. Right now, he didn't really care what his voice sounded like. He just wanted to find out what was wrong with the girl who stood before him.

Surka froze for a moment, as Haku made his way to her. She became frightened for a moment as she didn't know what to say, when she finally relax few moments later she smiled, which wasn't much now than before. Her jade eyes kept watch on the sky as she know that she would be in her spirit form soon.
When Haku spoke to her, she noticed now kind it was and this reminded her how friendly she was before Yu-Baba placed a black slug inside to control her, while she was in her spirit form and made her prisoner inside the spirit world. After he finished his sentence and she then began to speak.
Her words were a little icy as she couldn't help it, after wall the mean boss was ruling her now "Hello Haku." She paused for moment trying to get the right words out, as she tired to fight the slug inside her "yes. It was me that was crying. I miss my family and I can't see them because I turn into a unicorn now." She wondered Yu-Baba was away, knowing Haku sees her more than she does, she decided to ask him "where is Yu-Baba, anyway? I haven't seen her around for while" she hoped she be away for long time. So she can at last see the world she left behind for long time, she also hope that Haku or Chihiro would be able to get the slug out of her while she is in unicorn form.

"I'm not sure where she is," Haku said shaking his head at the mention of the whitch. "I haven't seen her around much, actually." It had been quite a while since Haku had actually seen Yu-Baaba, which was extremly surprising since he was usualy the only one that ever did see her. Everyone always expected him to know where she was or what she was doing. But he really didn't know half the time since all he did was do what she said and then he didn't see her until she called for him. It was rare when he was called to her now. Of course that didn't really bug him since he would much rather have some free time than do all of Yu-Baaba's dirty work. It was almost like a vacation. Well, kind of. "I'm sorry you can't go see your family," Haku said rather dryly even though he did mean it.

As the day slowly drifted into night. Surka looked at the nevoursly she knew, Haku better leave unless he wanted to get hurt badly. She held his hand, as a lonely tear fell down her face "you better go. The night is drawing nearer and I would change into my spirit form. I might hurt or kill you"
As she let his hand go her face started to go long as her unicorn form started to take place. Her alicorn shone brightly when the light touch it and after she almost completed. Her legs grew into four long thin ones and each one landed smoothly on the floor. Long thin tail started to form to, as quick lighting the shield of light around vanished and Surka neighed.
Strangly she didn't attack Haku, maybe it was after Haku was spirit like her. Her alicorn shone as she began to talk, knowing only another spirit would be to understand "can you help me Haku?" Surka eyes changed from jade to deep ocean blue. The black slug was taken over her and she tired to her best to aviod it. Only Haku would be able to save her now but she didn't know he would help her.[/sup]

Haku backed up slightly as he let his mouth open slightly as he watched the transformation. But he quickly put his more serious expression back on and watched her carefully in case the slug proved to try and have her cause him any harm. Fortunately, she made no move to hurt him. That was a relief considering he doubted he could do much but runaway from her if that happened. When she asked for his help he couldn't help but bite the inside of his lip sadly. He didn't know how he could help her. How would he get the slug out? Chihiro had done it last time. She had done while fighting him. He was sure that had been a challenge. The memory was fuzzy though. "Surka," he spoke quietly. "I don't know. I don't know how to remove Yu-Baaba's slugs. I'm sorry.."
