Calling (Name) : Ratt
Business (Job) : Boiler Repair
Gender : Female
Species : Rat Spirit
Looks : Standing at about five feet tall, Ratt is basically just a rat that walks on it's hind legs and is as big as a human. The only difference is that the fur on her elbows and knees is long and pointy, but not stiff, and the fur on the back of her head is spiked back with saliva, as it is also uncommonly long. Her fur is a sleek dark brown, bordering on black. Tiny bald spots cover her, upon which small burns can be seen, from bumping into the boiler wrong. Her back paws are raised up like a dog or a cat's so she walks on her toes, and her front paws are built like hands, opposable thumb and all, only they have fur all over them, with the exception of her cracked, black paw pads, and her short but sharp claws. Her whiskers are singed lightly, and scattered haphazardly. Her outfit consists of close fitting black Capri's, and a tight, black, short-sleeved shirt. Her eyes are a shimmering green, and her tail has the tip bitten off. Her ears are uncommonly long and pointed like a jackal's, and furry like a jackal's ears too. It's worthy to note that she's also very skinny, and weighs about 60 pounds, including her long, fur-less tail.
History : Ratt was sold to Yu-Baaba by her master as payment for him using the baths so much. She was originally a worker, but when Kamagi started complaining about how he could no longer fit behind the boiler to fix it, and the customer's complaints of how cold the water was, Ratt showed Yu-Baaba that her kind was bred to fix boilers and other broken objects that most others could not. Soon after, Ratt's job changed to Boiler Fixer, and since then, she's spent her nights with the Soot Creatures, who seem to like her nest in the boiler room. Ratt was not originally named Ratt, but, like Haku, she cannot remember her true name.
Diet : Rat Spirits eat strictly stale bread or cheese, as anything else makes them gain weight quickly. The meals they eat are few and far between, often only one meal every other day, and those meals often consist of only a loaf of stale bread, and a hunk of cheese if they're good. They usually drink water or wine.
Nature (Habits) : Ratt's people sleep in 'Nests', which are basically just large piles of blankets and pillows. A nest is big enough to fit five people comfortably, but the Rat Spirits only share their nests with their mates, children, or those they trust completely. It is suspected, but not proven, that this is because they steal small trinkets and hoard them in their nests, which often also contain stored food in extremely small amounts just in case they are neglected and not fed every other day.
Roleplay Example : "Yu-Baaba! Yu-Baaba, I can't do this anymore!" "Do what, Kamagi?!" "Fix the boiler! I can't fit!!! I can't reach behind it, and my Soot Creatures are getting burned if they try to fix it!" "Hmmm....I have been getting complaints...." The sharp ears that had been listening in perked up, then they was a scuttling sound as the five foot tall female rat stood. "Y...Yu-Baaba, ma'am....I can fix the boiler." Both Kamagi and Yu-Baaba stared at the kitchen worker, then turned to each other. "She's thin enough." Yu-Baaba said, nodding. "Take her, Kamagi....her shedding just makes more of a mess anyway."
Weeks had passed since Ratt got a new job. Now, she lay asleep in her nest, the warmth of the nearby boiler soothing her. The soft smell of soot permeated the nest's walls, and also added to her relaxed state. Most of Yu-Baaba's workers were asleep now, but not Ratt. She was waiting, waiting until she heard the window upstairs open so she could watch her favorite 'spectacle' as she called it. The noise reached her ears, and in a flash she untangled herself from the soot creatures and stood by the door to the world outside. Her green eyes followed a white and blue green dragon as he flew away. It was Yu-Baaba's worker, Haku. She envied him. Envied how he could fly away and see the world, while she was not allowed to leave the boiler room without Yu-Baaba's strict permission, which was never given. She wasn't even allowed to talk to anyone but Kamagi, the soot creatures, and whomever gave her the meal she recieved every other day. Yu-Baaba said it was to protect her from ridicule, and so, Ratt developed her stammer, which became present any time she talked to someone other than Kamagi or the soot creatures. It was because she didn't trust them to not ridicule her because she was a rat.
