I think I'm going to be writing a Spirited Away fanfiction. And I have kind of a depressing, but interesting, plot idea that I want to use. I wanted to know what you guys thought of it, or if you had any ideas. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it, but I hope it's okay...

Alright then. It's kind of odd, and rather depressing as I said... but here goes. (Love your icon, rocky. Yay for Shika!)

So many years had passed. Many years; Full of pain and joy and suffering and laughter. Love, heart-break, tears, but mostly beauty, the sheer delight of living and loving and building and destroying as only humans can. A whole life-time, really. Chihiro, after all those years, finally returns to the Spirit World, waking up there, only a vague recollection of ever having left.
If only, if only, it were so vague for everyone else.
Chihiro reunites with her old friends, but everyone is sad and quiet and distant. Haku hardly speaks to her, and just looking at her makes him miserable and estatic. Because he, he and Lin and Yubaba and Zaniba and Kamaji and everyone, they all know the one thing she doesn't. The one thing she hasn't figured out yet, because she doesn't remember.
Because Chihiro went back. She lived out her one, normal, mortal life. She fell in love, got married, had children. She was happy. And then she returned, as young and wonderful and exciting as she was when she arrived. The way that she had always pictured herself. Despite the life she lived, Haku was always in her thoughts, in her heart. As was Lin, Zaniba, Kamaji... everybody, those people, the strangest and most amazing people in her memories.
But what innocent Chihiro doesn't remember is what hurts them. Like a knife twisted in a wound every time she laughs, every time she smiles. All she knows is she was gone for a long time, and now she's back. Everything else is vaguely fuzzy, but it doesn't seem strange to her.
But they remember. They know. But none of them kind find the heart to tell her, tell her the truth.
Because, that morning, Chihiro Ogino died.
And now she is back at Yubaba's bath-house, resting like other spirits, preparing to move on to whatever lies beyond the confines of the human world, beyond the confines of the bath-house. Farther than the swamps or the ocean or the dreams. She needs to take that one way trip from which no one returns, to whatever lays beyond life, beyond death.
That is the way of normal humans which turn into normal spirits. But Haku can't get over it. He can't just let her go, let her die. He could make her promise to stay, make her swear to stay with him forever. But can he tie her soul to an eternity at the bath-house? Keep her from her natural course?
Or, the path even more terrifying.... Could he move on with her? Take that train and, forever, no matter what happens, be with her? Go with her. Face that long train-ride till the last stop, whatever or wherever that was.

And that's pretty much it. I'd need to spend more time on it, of course, and I definitely need dialogue and events and what not... but there's the basic plot and drama and terribly depressing angst, but it's also rather tragic and lovely, I think....

Hahahaha. That's what I thought, too. It made me cry lamely when I first thought it up.
The only problem is, I'm super lame when it comes to writing fan-fictions. I just suck with dialogue and whatnot... Oh well... I guess I'll have to muddle through somehow, huh?

Yes! That sounds like an amazing story!! You HAVE to write it! It's tragic and sad, but still beautiful. It kind of reminds me of the end of Peter Pan when Wendy decides to grow up and she has her own life and gets married and has a child and everything! Then Peter comes back for her and realizes she's too grown up and can no longer share in the childhood dreams of Neverland with him. But he's the boy who will never grow up, so instead he shares that dream with Wendy's children . . . . I really like the idea that Chihiro appears as she sees herself (still young and full of life!). Also love the idea of choosing between fates (or to disrupt fate) and the possibility of taking the train to the “final stop.” That reminds me of something too, but I’m not sure what! Please post it when you're done! I can't wait to read it (and see how you decide to end it)!

Ahahahah. Thank you guys. I'll definitely try to write it.... Though I'm not very good at writing fanfictions. We'll see what comes of it!
